style=\"color:#199ddb\">Resum del projecte<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:26px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#000000\">L&#8217;ictus (o infart cerebral) \u00e9s la segona causa de discapacitat a Europa, despr\u00e9s de la cardiopatia isqu\u00e8mica, i \u00e9s la sisena causa mundial. S&#8217;espera que la prevalen\u00e7a d&#8217;esdeveniments d&#8217;ictus augmenti a tot el m\u00f3n a mesura que augmenta la poblaci\u00f3 mundial de m\u00e9s de 65 anys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#000000\">En l\u2019ictus isqu\u00e8mic agut (la majoria dels ictus) la reperfusi\u00f3 preco\u00e7 de l\u2019art\u00e8ria obstru\u00efda, \u00e9s a dir, la restauraci\u00f3 del flux sanguini cerebral (cerebral blood flow en angl\u00e8s, o CBF) \u00e9s un bon indicador de la  recuperaci\u00f3  del pacient i d&#8217;un estat funcional favorable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#000000\">La tecnologia \u00f2ptica difusa ofereix una nova oportunitat per a l&#8217;avaluaci\u00f3 no invasiva, en temps real i a peu de llit de biomarcadors claus en la funci\u00f3 cerebral, incl\u00f2s el CBF, amb l&#8217;objectiu de proporcionar una predicci\u00f3 temprana de la resposta a la ter\u00e0pia, conduint aix\u00ed a millors decisions i resultats cl\u00ednics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#000000\">Els investigadors del grup d\u2019\u00d2ptica M\u00e8dica de l&#8217;ICFO, dirigit pel professor ICREA Dr. Turgut Durduran, desenvolupen tecnologies que utilitzen la llum d&#8217;infraroja i l&#8217;\u00f2ptica difusa per a proporcionar informaci\u00f3 privilegiada als metges, de manera segura i a peu de llit del pacient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#000000\">Els investigadors de l\u2019ICFO s\u2019associen amb la Unitat d\u2019Ictus de l\u2019Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau per dur a terme les proves cl\u00edniques d\u2019aquests dispositius. Tamb\u00e9 s\u2019uneixen amb el Grup de Recerca Cerebrovascular de l\u2019IDIBAPS per entendre els fonaments de l\u2019ictus isqu\u00e8mic en models animals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#000000\">Aquests dispositius fot\u00f2nics controlen de forma no invasiva els vasos sanguinis m\u00e9s petits del cervell del pacient, proporcionant informaci\u00f3 cont\u00ednua sobre el flux sanguini, el volum sanguini, l\u2019oxigenaci\u00f3 sangu\u00ednia i el consum d\u2019oxigen. S&#8217;utilitzen per complementar eines establertes com s\u00f3n les resson\u00e0ncies magn\u00e8tiques i les tomografies computaritzades, i tenen per objectiu optimitzar els tractaments i millorar els resultats i la qualitat de vida dels pacients d&#8217;ictus. L\u2019ambici\u00f3 final \u00e9s desenvolupar dispositius que puguin ser \u00e0mpliament utilitzats en totes les unitats d&#8217;ictus, aix\u00ed com la creaci\u00f3 de dispositius port\u00e0tils per
