style=\"color:#199ddb\">Resumen del proyecto<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:26px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#000000\">El nuevo laboratorio conjunto busca avanzar en el uso y el desarrollo de tecnolog\u00edas fot\u00f3nicas para comprender, diagnosticar, controlar y tratar las enfermedades pedi\u00e1tricas. Actualmente, la iniciativa se centra en tres l\u00edneas de investigaci\u00f3n principales:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#000000\"><strong>1.  Del coraz\u00f3n al neurodesarrollo<\/strong><br>Cada a\u00f1o nacen en Barcelona 400 ni\u00f1as y ni\u00f1os con cardiopat\u00edas cong\u00e9nitas y un 40% necesitar\u00e1 una operaci\u00f3n de coraz\u00f3n durante el primer a\u00f1o de vida. Los investigadores Dr. Turgut Durduran (ICFO), Dr. Juan Sanchez de Toledo (IRSJD) y Dra. Marta Camprub\u00ed (IRSJD) tienen el objetivo de desarrollar herramientas que permitir\u00e1n hacer un seguimiento continuo del cerebro en estos ni\u00f1os, y as\u00ed poder detectar problemas neurol\u00f3gicos y anticiparse a sus consecuencias. Una herramienta de monitorizaci\u00f3n continua del cerebro podr\u00eda ayudar al personal m\u00e9dico a centrar la atenci\u00f3n en estos pacientes para proteger su desarrollo cerebral y permitirles llegar a la edad adulta con un desarrollo neurol\u00f3gico \u201cnormal\u201d y garantizar una buena calidad de vida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#000000\"><strong>2. Aceleraci\u00f3n de nuevas terapias<\/strong><br>La distrofia muscular relacionada con el col\u00e1geno VI (COL6-RD) es una enfermedad muscular degenerativa que afecta principalmente a los ni\u00f1os, con un impacto importante en su calidad y esperanza de vida. Gracias al proyecto liderado por el Dr. Pablo Loza (ICFO), la Dra. Cecilia Jimenez-Mallebrera (IRSJD) y la Dra. M\u00f3nica Rold\u00e1n (IRSJD), los investigadores podr\u00e1n avanzar en nuevas t\u00e9cnicas de microscop\u00eda avanzada y an\u00e1lisis de im\u00e1genes, proporcionando m\u00e9todos cuantitativos m\u00e1s precisos para controlar la eficacia de nuevos f\u00e1rmacos y terapias, para acelerar el proceso regulador de nuevos tratamientos, que posteriormente podr\u00edan llegar a todos los ni\u00f1os que lo necesiten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#000000\"><strong>3. Impacto de las convulsiones y neuroprotecci\u00f3n del cerebro neonatal y lactante<\/strong><br>Las convulsiones en reci\u00e9n nacidos y lactantes son un s\u00edntoma causado por numerosas enfermedades. Se conoce que el cerebro del reci\u00e9n nacido y el lactante es una estructura vulnerable, pero se desconoce el impacto de las convulsiones independientemente de la causa de las mismas. Los investigadores Dr. Turgut Durduran (ICFO) y Dra. Carme Fons (IRSJD) pretenden analizar de forma no invasiva y en la misma cama del paciente, cu\u00e1l es la relaci\u00f3n entre la afectaci\u00f3n metab\u00f3lica durante las convulsiones y los trastornos del neurodesarrollo. El objetivo final ser\u00e1 desarrollar estrategias de neuroprotecci\u00f3n para minimizar el impacto futuro de las convulsiones y mejorar la calidad de vida e integraci\u00f3n en la sociedad de los
