style=\"height:26px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#000000\">El retinoblastoma es el tumor ocular maligno m\u00e1s frecuente en la poblaci\u00f3n infantil. Se presenta habitualmente en pacientes menores de 5 a\u00f1os, a partir de la retina en desarrollo. La decisi\u00f3n sobre el tratamiento de los pacientes con retinoblastoma depende de factores de riesgo de desarrollo de met\u00e1stasis. Existe una gran controversia en las indicaciones de terapia adyuvante en pacientes con enfermedad avanzada y en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os se ha propuesto indicaci\u00f3n de su uso solo en aquellos casos que sean realmente de muy alto riesgo, como son la invasi\u00f3n de esclera y la invasi\u00f3n del nervio \u00f3ptico en su porci\u00f3n postlaminar, observados en la pieza de enucleaci\u00f3n. El aumento de las tasas de \u00e9xito de los tratamientos conservadores del globo ocular impide poder estudiar las caracter\u00edsticas histol\u00f3gicas del retinoblastoma. Por esa raz\u00f3n, es muy importante desarrollar herramientas y protocolos que permitan el estudio del tejido cancer\u00edgeno en cada paciente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#000000\">\u2029Investigadores e investigadoras de ICFO y Institut de Recerca Sant Joan de D\u00e9u trabajan en un proyecto conjunto que se propone usar microscopia Raman para valorar <em>ex vivo<\/em> los diferentes tipos de c\u00e9lulas que componen el tumor e identificar el grado de diferenciaci\u00f3n del mismo, as\u00ed como, analizar las estructures oculares que se hallen infiltradas por retinoblastoma. El objetivo final es proporcionar al personal cl\u00ednico herramientas para mejor evaluar el riesgo de met\u00e1stasis en cada ni\u00f1o y ni\u00f1a que padecen esta enfermedad. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
